Difference among: periodontal surgery, endodontic surgery and dental surgery

PERIODONTAL SURGERY:

1- Periodontal pocket surgery involves removing the deep space between the gum and the tooth, which contains harmful bacteria and tartar.

2- Soft tissue grafting or connective tissue graft is a surgery that restores thickness and sometimes height to the gum of the weakened tooth, thereby stopping the progression of the recession. The periodontist takes a piece of gum tissue from the palate to cover the root affected by the recession.

These procedures are done under local anesthesia, on an outpatient basis.

ENDODONTIC SURGERY:

Apectomy is surgery performed for diseases of the tooth root and the tissues surrounding it, under local anesthesia, on an outpatient basis. The procedure involves opening the gum line just above the tooth to uncover the root. The infected tissue will be removed with the last few millimeters of the root tip, and this cavity will be prepared and filled with a biocompatible material.

DENTAL SURGERY:

Dental surgery is the rest of the dental or oral procedures that include surgery. Dental surgery operations include, for example, the extraction of wisdom teeth, and the placement of a dental implant to replace missing teeth.
